Episode 6 of the Cutting Edge features Tim Johnson of Tim Johnson Cutting Horses, one of the Northwest's premier cutting horse trainers, major aged event finalist, mercuria finalist and Calgary Stampede Open Derby Champion. Tim is also known for his keen and discerning eye when it comes to buying and selling horses, and his story is an interesting one. A kid from San Jose, California who loved working on hot rod cars and yet somehow ended up running a successful cutting horse training operation in Dusty, Washington. On the podcast today Tim talks everything from preconceived notions and stigma in the industry to running a successful business and not letting the money earned behind his name get in the way of money earned in his bank account. Tim is a talented cutting horse trainer and I'm lucky to count him as one of my friends. I think this interview provides an interesting glimpse into the program of a trainer who balances showing, with taking care of his clients, with ensuring his business is on the right track.
