In September of 2018 it was announced that the stand-out cow horse stallion, Cats Picasso, had sold to new owners, Coast Performances Horses. In an industry where everyone knows everyone, it was a surprise that the question circling around many barns was, "who the heck is Coast Performance Horses?"
Of course everyone knew Cats Picasso, the son of Metallic Cat, who was piloted by 2017 World's Greatest Horseman, John Swales to over $150,000 in earnings - notably making finals at the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity, where he had the high scoring fence run, NRCHA Derby and NRCHA Hackamore Classic.
But who is Coast Performance Horses? On Episode 11 we answer just that question and introduce you to founding partners, Deb Anderson and Nav Dhaliwal. On the surface the two may not look like your traditional stallion owners, a mortgage broker and a venture capitalist, but that's what makes them undeniably interesting. Today we talk about their business partnership, their views on the industry and how they plan to disrupt it. Plus, we chat about their great stallion, Cats Picasso and what the future holds. Oh yeah, and they mention the newest exciting development - the NRCHA Cats Picasso Derby, held June 9-16 in Paso Robles, California.
In the podcast we mention a video that was released by Coast Performance Horses shortly after they purchased Cats Picasso that heavily features the stallion and his trainer, John Swales. You can view that here:
